Birth of a Sculpture
If you’d like to follow the creation and fabrication process for one of my sculptures, in this case Nexus, here is a .pdf publication I created. Click on the image below to open it or I would suggest right-click-saving due to the size (around 11mb).

hello sam – i stumbled across your website in a despairing moment after leaving my own work and coming home – your work is so inspiring, it has such natural grace and resonates entirely of the way you talk, which is also beautiful, and something i had a strong emotional response to. thankyou for your frank and ego-less window into your thoughts and processes, i think you may have nudged something resistant in my recent struggles, so thank you very much indeed 🙂 i am a metal worker myself, in part, i do functional blacksmith type things for other people, but have not been successfully using these techniques in my own 3d work, getting all in a tangle about what my own personal work should or could be. im sure you know yourself, that such a lot of time spent alone with your own work, and thoughts about it, can become overwhelming. i need to learn to relax again, and enjoy the process – like you said! thanks very much sam and your work and the way you share it on your blog and website are really wonderful 🙂
