Essential Art Competition Award
A couple weeks ago was the opening of the annual Essential Art Competition by one of our local organizations, Visual Arts Minnesota. I’ve been doing the show for years and it’s a good reason to get out of the studio in the middle of winter and visit the beautiful Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud. You still have time to catch it before it closes on the 14th.
This year, the juror was curator and writer Christopher Atkins, coordinator of the MAEP at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. A man of learning and accomplishments, he’s obviously endowed with great taste as well… my sculpture Artifact VII took First Place in 3D. This was the first time I’ve exhibited any of the new Artifacts, so it was nice to get such a good response.
The images here were taken at the show by Steve Diamond Elements. They do some excellent work, check’em out.
